The latest data in 2023 shows that Thailand is the 12th largest food exporter in the world. According to the Processed Food Manufacturers Association, Thailand exports food products worth 1.31 trillion baht. Thai food is recognized in many countries for its production technology that meets international standards. Halal food alone accounts for 20% of Thailand's total food exports.
Most of which are in the natural agricultural product category such as rice, flour, sugar, canned fruits, and seasonings, with 60% exported to Muslim countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei, worth almost 6 billion US dollars in 2021/2022.
In addition to food, Thai halal products are in high demand by Muslim consumers, covering other products and services such as cosmetics, fashion, pharmaceuticals, halal hotels and tourism, manufacturing and export of finished products.
